A classic 1970’s two building motel block “Oxley Lodge” underwent a retrofit both indoors and out across 17 seperate units.

Breathe Architects & Milieu focused on minimal exterior changes featuring a refresh of the cream brick facades, aluminium windows and white metal balustrades.

Landscape architects Acre centred on concrete removal & greening the outdoor spaces to repurpose carpark into communal areas.

Building on this community spirit, 4 Coastal Clotheslines were installed in the new shared garden zones.

Two into original cream brick walls featuring folding wall clotheslines. Under these are Mini clotheslines for dogs to be leashed during dog wash time!

Along the timber fence are another 2 post & fence clotheslines creating ample lineal hanging space for all occupants.

Long live rejuvenation of existing buildings!
